NAAEI’s Apartment Jobs Snapshot looks back at the apartment job market during 2021. Demand for employees in the multifamily industry was strong amid the Great Resignation. The apartment sector fiercely battled against competing sectors to attract skilled prospects.

Monthly apartment job postings averaged 12,982. Kansas City, Portland, Virginia Beach and Seattle ranked highest for markets with robust apartment job demand. Maintenance professionals were in the highest demand in Seattle where demand was twice the national average. Overall, property management professionals were the most sought-after during 2021, accounting for 29.0% of total apartment job postings.
