The U.S. rental housing market has been a popular and, for many, successful investment during the past decade, enabled by a number of new vehicles and investment types and spurred by disruption in the single-family-owned market as a result of the 2007 subprime crisis. Investors should be aware, however, that the market is about to undergo a significant change driven by dramatically different demographic trends.
