An office building is a place used for the for the conduct of business or profession, as distinguished from residential buildings, retail space, industrial buildings, or recreational facilities.
When office is used as a zoning designation, “office” allows businesses to carry on services rather than manufacturing or production on the site. Businesses such as insurance companies, law firms and accounting firms work out of offices.
Office Buildings are a type of commercial real estate. This category includes single-tenant properties, small professional office buildings, downtown skyscrapers, and everything in between.
